The accumulation of particles in a turbulent flow of incompressible air with mono-dispersed solid particles inside a 90° pipe bend was simulated using ANSYS® Fluent (CFD), taking into account the effect of gravity, drag force and a bidirectional fluid ...

A passive Stokes flow rectifier for Newtonian fluids
Non-linear effects of the Navier–Stokes equations disappear under the Stokes regime of Newtonian fluid flows disallowing a flow rectification behavior. Here we show that passive flow rectification of Newtonian fluids is obtainable under the Stokes regime

Nanodiamond Sensing in Dynamic Environments With Fast‐Tracking Through Four‐Point Positioning
A four‐point positioning tracking (4PPT) platform enables fast 3D feedback translational tracking of fluorescent nanodiamonds while simultaneously recording ODMR spectra. By integrating real‐time translational tracking with quantum sensing, mobile nanodiamonds are used for in‐situ nanothermometry, nanorheometry, and 6D translation–rotation tracking in ...

Diffusion Processes in the A-Model of Vector Admixture: Turbulent Prandtl Number
Using analytical approach of the field theoretic renormalization-group technique in two-loop approximation we model a fully developed turbulent system with vector characteristics driven by stochastic Navier-Stokes equation. The behaviour of the turbulent

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

Dynamics of Small, Constant-size Particles in a Protoplanetary Disk with an Embedded Protoplanet
Hydrodynamical simulations of protoplanetary disk dynamics are useful tools for understanding the formation of planetary systems, including our own. Approximations are necessary to make these simulations computationally tractable.
