Calibration Methods of a Portable Polarizing System for Monitoring Optically Inhomogeneous Media
Theoretical aspects of methods for calibrating Stokes polarimeters are considered. The prospects and opportunities for implementing the presented methods for calibrating portable polarization systems used in biology and medicine are determined.

Coherent Polarization States Multiplexer and Its Feasibility in Quantum Communication
In this paper, a multiplexing technique of coherent polarization states based on three-dimensional rotation group is proposed. The technique applies two Stokes parameters in one polarized light as signal and local oscillator (LO), and combines them in ...

Paperboard Coating Detection Based on Full-Stokes Imaging Polarimetry
The manufacturing of high-quality extruded low-density polyethylene (PE) paperboard intended for the food packaging industry relies on manual, intrusive, and destructive off-line inspection by the process operators to assess the overall quality and ...

Stokes parameters as a Minkowskian four-vector [PDF]
It is noted that the Jones-matrix formalism for polarization optics is a six-parameter two-by-two representation of the Lorentz group. It is shown that the four independent Stokes parameters form a Minkowskian four-vector, just like the energy-momentum four-vector in special relativity.

Error-free secure key generation and distribution using dynamic Stokes parameters.
This paper proposes and experimentally demonstrates an error-free secure key generation and distribution (SKGD) scheme in classical optical fiber link by exploiting Stokes parameters (SPs) of the state of polarization (SOP).

On the adaptive selection of the parameter in stabilized finite element approximations [PDF]
A systematic approach is developed for the selection of the stabilization parameter for stabilized finite element approximation of the Stokes problem, whereby the parameter is chosen to minimize a computable upper bound for the error in the approximation.

Two-point Stokes parameters : interpretation and properties [PDF]
Whereas the classic Stokes parameters are measures of intensity, the recently introduced two-point Stokes parameters characterize spatial coherence.

Plasmonic metagratings for simultaneous determination of Stokes parameters [PDF]
Measuring light's state of polarization is an inherently difficult problem, since the phase information between orthogonal polarization states is typically lost in the detection process.

Detection of second-order nonlinear optical magnetization by mapping normalized Stokes parameters [PDF]
A measurable magnetic (nonlocal) contribution to the second harmonic generation (SHG) of nonmagnetic materials is an intriguing issue related to chiral materials, such as biomolecules.
