Twisted Tin-Chloride Perovskite Single-Crystal Heterostructures. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
Replacing lead with tin in a single‐crystal halide perovskite heterostructure drives a twist between the perovskite (gray) and intergrowth (blue) layers. The accompanying structural distortions and interfacial strain change the calculated orbital composition of the band edges and enable high in‐plane optical anisotropy in the Sn analog.

Frailty and Brain Myelin Across Adulthood: Multimodal MRI Insights From the BLSA. [PDF]

open access: yesAging Cell
Frailty, a marker of multisystem vulnerability, is associated with lower white matter myelin content across adulthood. Multicomponent MRI in the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging revealed reduced myelin water fraction, particularly in callosal and projection fibers, suggesting myelin integrity as a neural correlate of systemic aging.

Digons and angular derivatives of analytic self-maps of the unit disk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present a geometric approach to a well-known sharp inequality, due to Cowen and Pommerenke, about angular derivatives of general univalent self-maps of the unit disk.Comment: 7 ...

Large-amplitude Qn-Qp collectivity in the neutron-rich oxygen isotope 20O [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
By means of HFB calculations with independent constraints on axial neutron and proton quadrupole moments Q_n and Q_p, we investigate the large amplitude isoscalar and isovector deformation properties of the neutron-rich isotope 20O.

On the moduli space of positive Ricci curvature metrics on homotopy spheres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show that the moduli space of Ricci positive metrics on certain homotopy spheres has infinitely many connected components.Comment: 28 pages, 11 figures.

Optically-pumped dilute nitride spin-VCSEL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report the first room temperature optical spin-injection of a dilute nitride 1300 nm vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) under continuous-wave optical pumping.

Boundary distortion estimates for holomorphic maps

open access: yes, 2013
We establish some estimates of the the angular derivatives from below for holomorphic self-maps of the unit disk at one and two fixed points of the unit circle provided there is no fixed point inside the unit disk. The results complement Cowen-Pommerenke

Relative Oscillation Theory, Weighted Zeros of the Wronskian, and the Spectral Shift Function

open access: yes, 2008
We develop an analog of classical oscillation theory for Sturm-Liouville operators which, rather than measuring the spectrum of one single operator, measures the difference between the spectra of two different operators. This is done by replacing zeros

Three-body correlations in direct reactions: Example of $^{6}$Be populated in $(p,n)$ reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The $^{6}$Be continuum states were populated in the charge-exchange reaction $^1$H($^{6}$Li,$^{6}$Be)$n$ collecting very high statistics data ($\sim 5 \times 10^6$ events) on the three-body $\alpha$+$p$+$p$ correlations.
