Air humidity, stomata & transpiration [PDF]

open access: yes
The plant's water status is the balance of water uptake and water loss. Transpiration (water loss) in influenced by sun, wind humidity, leaf area, and opening of stomatal pores in the ...

Systems analysis of guard cell membrane transport for enhanced stomatal dynamics and water use efficiency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Stomatal transpiration is at the centre of a crisis in water availability and crop production that is expected to unfold over the next 20-30 years. Global water usage has increased 6-fold in the past 100 years, twice as fast as the human population, and ...

Total Neoadjuvant Therapy for Rectal Cancer: Why Japan Says “Not Yet”

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) has rapidly gained global acceptance as a standard treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Supported by multiple phase III trials, TNT improves pathological complete response (pCR) rates, enhances systemic control, and expands opportunities for non‐operative management (NOM).

The effect of different nursery conditions on some of the leaf and stomata characteristics in Chestnuts (Castanea sativa Mill.)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Botany and Food Quality, 2014
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different nursery conditions on some leaf dimensions and stomatal characteristics in the chestnut. The study was carried out in the open field and under shaded (50%) and unshaded greenhouse conditions.

The developmental relationship between stomata and mesophyll airspace.

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 2019
The quantitative and spatial coordination of stomatal pores in the epidermis and airspaces in the underlying mesophyll tissue is vital for efficient gas exchange in the leaf.

Impact of Renin‐Angiotensin System Inhibitors on Renal Function During Temporary Ileostomy Period in Rectal Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This retrospective study explored the potential impact of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASIs) on renal function during the ileostomy period in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery. RASI use was associated with early postoperative renal impairment, and relatively slow recovery of renal function was observed until stoma closure.

Micromorphology of the epidermis of the floral nectary of Rhododendron japonicum (A. Gray) J. V. Suringar ex E.H. Wilson.

open access: yesActa Agrobotanica, 2012
The conducted study related to the structure of the floral nectaries of Rhododendron japonicum (A. Gray) J. V. Suringar ex E. H. Wilson. The structure of the secretory epidermis of the nectaries was analysed by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM ...
