Orthotrichum (Orthotrichaceae, Bryopsida) in Pakistan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A first critical survey of the genus Orthotrichum in Pakistan is provided. The currently known geographical distributions of the species and their ecologies within Pakistan are discussed.

CRISPR-TSKO : a technique for efficient mutagenesis in specific cell types, tissues, or organs in Arabidopsis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Detailed functional analyses of many fundamentally important plant genes via conventional loss-of-function approaches are impeded by the severe pleiotropic phenotypes resulting from these losses.

Short‐Term Outcomes and Cost Drivers of Emergency Surgery for Acute Abdominal Disease in Super‐Elderly Patients: A Study in the Japanese Tertiary Care Hospital

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This retrospective study analyzed patients aged ≥ 85 years undergoing emergency abdominal surgery, focusing on short‐term outcomes and inpatient cost structure under the Japanese DPC system. Although major complications occurred in 19.4% of patients, more than 70% were discharged home.

Influence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inoculation on the control of stomata functioning by abscisic acid (ABA) in drought-stressed olive plants

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Botany, 2019
Abscisic acid (ABA) is the key phytohormone modeling the stomata behavior under drought conditions. However, stomata closure is not correlated with leaf ABA content in mycorrhizal olive plant.

The effect of different nursery conditions on some of the leaf and stomata characteristics in Chestnuts (Castanea sativa Mill.)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Botany and Food Quality, 2014
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different nursery conditions on some leaf dimensions and stomatal characteristics in the chestnut. The study was carried out in the open field and under shaded (50%) and unshaded greenhouse conditions.

Enabling the study of gene function in gymnosperms: Virus‐induced gene silencing in Ephedra tweedieana

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise As the sister clade to angiosperms, extant gymnosperms are crucial for reconstructing ancestral gene regulatory networks in seed plants. This highlights the need for model systems representing each of their distinct lineages. However, tools to quickly and effectively investigate gene function in gymnosperms are still limited due to the

Densidade e distribuição estomática em mandioca Manihot esculenta Crantz cultivar IAC 576-70

open access: yesScientia Agropecuaria, 2014
In cassava the variation in stomata characteristics, such as density, polar diameter and functionality undergochanges due to the stomata frequency distributed in different regions of the leaf blade.
