The potential of Jellytoring 2.0 smart tool as a global jellyfish monitoring platform. [PDF]
Jellytoring 2.0 is an automatic recognition tool for jellyfish species based on convolutional neural networks (CNN). The application of CNNs to image data can deliver a tool that enables the cost‐effective collection of jellyfish data on larger spatial and temporal scales.

Efficacy of venom from tentacle of jellyfish Stomolophus meleagris (Nemopilema nomurai) against the cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera. [PDF]
Efficacy of venom from tentacle of jellyfish Stomolophus meleagris against the cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera was determined. Venom from tentacle of jellyfish Stomolophus meleagris could inhibit the growth of Helicoverpa armigera and the weight inhibiting rate of sample NFr‐2 was 60.53%.

Cytokine Storm Induction Linked to Multi-Organ Failure in Fatal Jellyfish Stings. [PDF]
N. nomurai is the most important injurious species in the coastal area of China. Model construction, omics analysis, mechanism exploration, and intervention measures of N. nomurai envenomation are performed in the current study, and it suggested that cytokine storm played an important role in pathogenesis.

Understanding Dynamic Molecular Responses Is Key to Designing Environmental Stress Experiments: A Review of Gene and Protein Expression in Cnidaria Under Stress. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Gene and protein expression analyses are powerful tools to investigate the responses of cnidarians to stress, providing information on both genetic and functional variation and capturing dynamic shifts in organismal physiology. As the use of high throughput sequencing to understand responses of cnidarians to stressors is still relatively new ...

Rhizostomins: A Novel Pigment Family From Rhizostome Jellyfish (Cnidaria, Scyphozoa)
Many pigments, such as melanins, are widely distributed throughout the animal kingdom. Others have arisen as novelties in particular lineages, for example, the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) found in cnidarians.

Identification and Verification of the Blue Pigment in the Edible Jellyfish (Rhopilema esculentum)
Rhopilema esculentum is widely cultured in Chinese coastal regions and has thousand years of consumption history in China. Despite R. esculentum owns multiple colors (mainly ochre and blue) in aquaculture ponds, little is known about the pigments and color formation. This study identified and verified the blue pigment of R. esculentum.
