Bioactive Polyacetylenes from Stony Corals

Abstract Four new polyacetylenes have been isolated from three species of hermatypic corals, Montipora sp, M. mollis, and Pectinia lactuca. These compounds, representing the first such metabolites of coelenterates, exhibited ichthyotoxicity and inhibited the growth of some bacteria and fungi.
