日本語学習者における特殊拍生成時の音響学的特性 : 英語・中国語母語話者の時間的調整を中心として [PDF]
Phonetically, Japanese is a mora-timed language which is very different from the majority of languages. Many learners of Japanese as a second language have difficulty producing the special mora phoneme.

From phonetics to phonology : The emergence of first words in Italian [PDF]
This study assesses the extent of phonetic continuity between babble and words in four Italian children followed longitudinally from 0; 9 or 0; 10 to 2;0-two with relatively rapid and two with slower lexical growth. Prelinguistic phonetic characteristics,

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

Subphonemic and suballophonic consonant variation : the role of the phoneme inventory [PDF]
Consonants exhibit more variation in their phonetic realization than is typically acknowledged, but that variation is linguistically constrained. Acoustic analysis of both read and spontaneous speech reveals that consonants are not necessarily realized ...

Spot‐14 and Spot‐14R play distinct roles in regulating metabolism in brown and beige adipocytes. While both influence lipid and glucose pathways, Spot‐14 uniquely controls thermogenic gene expression. This dual regulation balances energy storage and heat production, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for obesity and metabolic disorders. Spot 14

The coarticulation of vowels and stop consonants
Abstract: Although[± voice] is a significant phonological feature for distinguishing between /b,d,g/ and /p,t,k/ in English at a highly abstract level, it is not necessarily the case that this feature is significant at the phonetic level. That is, it cannot account for the fact that some “voiced” stops exhibit no vocal cord vibration during stop ...

Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

The production of the English stop voicing contrast by Arab L2 speakers of English
The English voiceless stop /p/ and voiced stop /ɡ/ are absent in the consonant inventory of Arabic. This difference provides a fertile ground for empirical research in L2 speech learning among Arab L2 speakers of English.

Synthesis of Stop Consonants in Initial Position [PDF]
A complete set of rules is described for the production of English stop consonants in initial position with a terminal analog speech synthesizer. The five-pole series-connected synthesizer is simulated on a medium-sized general purpose computer, and has several novel features.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (
