The stopover ecology of migratory landbirds on Bon Portage Island, Nova Scotia

1999
I mist-netted southbound migrating landbirds on Bon Portage Island, Nova Scotia, to determine the importance of the island in these birds' migration. Stopover Ecology of Autumn Migrating Bluethroats Luscinia s. svecica in Relation to Age and Sex

Ornis Scandinavica, 1991
The ecology of autumn migrating Bluethroats Luscinia s. svecica of different age and sex classes was investigated at a stopover site in eastern Sweden, and data were used to test predictions from a model for optimal bird migration. Adults and juveniles migrated simultaneously but the migration period of adults was more concentrated. Adults carried more

Investigating landbird stopover ecology and distributions along the U.S. Coast of the Gulf of Mexico

2018
Every spring, billions of Nearctic-Neotropical landbird migrants travel from tropical wintering grounds in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America to temperate breeding grounds in the United States and Canada. In autumn, they reverse this journey, heading south to return to their wintering grounds.
