A Novel Stopping Criterion for Turbo Decoding

First International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control - Volume I (ICICIC'06), 2006
Turbo decoder estimates message values sent from transmitter by computing iteratively to get the maximum posteriori probability. It will be inefficient if the number of iteration is set irrationally. To reduce decoding process latency, lots of stopping criteria for Turbo decoding were proposed [1-8].

Stop criterion and simulation algorithm

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 1979
Mathematical model of a simulated process describes an actual equipment only with some accuracy. Thus, there is no reason to require that the numerical method should solve the simulation problem with a greater accuracy that with the mathematical model approximates the behaviour of an actual existing equipment.

A stopping criterion for polynomial root finding

Communications of the ACM, 1967
When solving for the roots of a polynomial, it is generally difficult to know just when to terminate the iteration process. In this paper an algorithm is derived and discussed which allows one to terminate the iteration process on the basis of calculated bounds for the roundoff error.

Distributed Stopping Criterion for Consensus in the Presence of Delays

IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, 2020
Linear consensus protocol is an iterative distributed algorithm with asymptotic convergence guarantees. This paper develops and analyzes an algorithm for agents running linear consensus iterations to detect convergence to consensus within a specified error tolerance in a distributed manner.

Automatic stopping criterion for anisotropic diffusion

2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002
Anisotropic diffusion has become a valuable tool for multiscale nonlinear image analysis for example in edge detection and segmentation. We develop, apparently for the first time, an automatic criterion to choose when to stop the iteration in anisotropic diffusion signal reconstruction.

A Riemannian Stopping Criterion for Unsupervised Phonetic Segmentation

2013 12th International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications, 2013
With the availability of large and heterogeneous corpora of untranscribed speech we have recently seen regained interest for algorithms to perform automatic segmentation of such data into acoustically homogeneous or phonetic units. In this paper, we face the problem of phonetic segmentation under a hierarchical clustering (HC) framework. Concretely, we

An Efficient Stopping Criterion for Turbo Product Codes

IEEE Communications Letters, 2007
In this letter, a stopping criterion using the error- detecting capability of linear block codes is proposed for the decoding of turbo product codes. The iterative decoding is stopped when the outputs from the Chase decoder are valid codewords for all rows and columns simultaneously.

Simplified Early Stopping Criterion for Polar Codes

2018 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC), 2018
Belief propagation (BP) algorithm of polar codes suffers from very high computational complexity when the iteration number becomes larger. In this paper, an early stopping criterion is proposed to avoid unnecessary iterations efficiently. The proposed only needs to detect whether the proportion of unchanged soft-output messages in a detection space ...
