Winter Track Survey of the Amur Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) in the Southwest Primorsky Province of Russia 俄罗斯滨海边疆区西南部东北虎 (Panthera tigris altaica) 冬季足迹调查

In the winter of 2021/2022, a winter track survey revealed 43–46 tigers (without cubs) in 5.4 thousand km2 of suitable habitats in the Southwest Primorsky Province of Russia. In the same period, a network of camera traps registered 54 adult/subadult tigers here.

This study explores an innovative approach to rehabilitating bears that abandon hibernation in mid‐winter due to extreme exhaustion by providing supplemental food near their den sites.

Over a 2‐year period, we estimated nest density and success at 2 sites, captured and telemetered nesting murrelets, and tested the use of a thermal camera to improve nest detection.

Developing a low‐cost drone‐based method for deploying and retrieving autonomous recording units in inaccessible areas

Autonomous recording units (ARUs) are increasingly used for passive acoustic monitoring, but deploying them in remote or inaccessible locations remains challenging. We developed and field‐tested a lightweight, low‐cost floating platform for drone‐assisted deployment and retrieval of ARUs in wetland interiors.

Modeling of Unsymmetrical Single-lane Roundabouts based on Stopping Sight Distance

Evaluation of the adequacy of sight distance at roundabout is usually performed graphically as no quantitative guidelines are available for the lateral clearance needs. This paper presents analytical lateral clearance models to satisfy Stopping Sight Distance (SSD) at unsymmetrical single-lane roundabouts (with different entry and exit radii).
