Method for reducing loss of crude oil during venting before starting centrifugal pump in oil transportation station

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2020
Venting is an essential operation step before starting the centrifugal pump. During the process of venting, the centrifugal pump faces the problems of oil splash, slop oil in the slop tank and excessive loss of crude oil during venting.

Optimal Storage Allocation for Wireless Cloud Caching Systems with a Limited Sum Storage Capacity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In wireless cloud storage systems, the recovery failure probability depends on not only wireless channel conditions but also storage size of each distributed storage node. For an efficient utilization of limited storage capacity and the performance characterization of allocation strategies, we asymptotically analyze the recovery failure probability of ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Role of CoFeB thickness in electric field controlled sub-100 nm sized magnetic tunnel junctions

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
We report a comprehensive study on the role of the free layer thickness (tF) in electric-field controlled nanoscale perpendicular magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs), comprising of free layer structure Ta/Co40Fe40B20/MgO, by using dc magnetoresistance and ...

Catholyte engineering to release the capacity of iodide for high‐energy‐density iodine‐based redox flow batteries

open access: yesSusMat, 2023
Due to the high solubility, high reversibility, and low cost of iodide, iodine‐based redox flow batteries (RFBs) are considered to have great potential for upscaling energy storage.

Spot‐14 and its paralog Spot‐14R regulate expression of metabolic and thermogenic pathway genes in murine brown and beige adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spot‐14 and Spot‐14R play distinct roles in regulating metabolism in brown and beige adipocytes. While both influence lipid and glucose pathways, Spot‐14 uniquely controls thermogenic gene expression. This dual regulation balances energy storage and heat production, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for obesity and metabolic disorders. Spot 14

A cellular system to study responses to a collision between the transcription complex and a protein‐bound nick in the DNA template

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present the cellular transcription‐coupled Flp‐nick system allowing the introduction of a Top1‐mimicking cleavage complex (Flpcc) at a Flp recognition target site within a controllable LacZ gene. LacZ transcription leads to the collision of RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) with Flpcc, and this causes RNAPII stalling, ubiquitination, and degradation.

STAT3 expression is reduced in cardiac pericytes in HFpEF and its loss reduces cellular adhesion and induces pericyte senescence

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.
