The Middle Bronze Age site of Berstett Langenberg (Lower Rhine), cross-referenced approaches

open access: yesGallia Préhistoire
. Excavated in 2018 as part of the western bypass of Strasbourg, the Berstett Langenberg site of nearly two hectares (site no. 5.6 of the project) has revealed occupations dating from the Late Neolithic to the Final La Tène period.

Enhancing ORR Catalytic Activity and Electrochemical Investigation of La1−2xBaxBixFeO3 Cathode for Low-Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
Perovskite cathodes have emerged as a promising alternative to traditional cathode materials in low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (LT-SOFCs) due to their exceptional catalytic properties and high oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity.

Evaluating the effects of alternative model structures on dynamic storage simulation in heterogeneous boreal catchments

open access: yesHydrology Research, 2022
Estimating dynamic storage as a metric can be used to make an overall assessment of catchment resilience to extreme weather events such as droughts and floods.

Language, Culture, and Cancer: Qualitative Insights Into Communication Disparities Among Spanish‐Speaking Caregivers of Children With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Latino children are projected to make up nearly one‐third of United States (US) children by 2060, and many of their caregivers speak Spanish. Prior survey research has documented communication difficulties for Spanish‐speaking caregivers of children with cancer, but contemporary qualitative data are limited.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Mesoscale simulation of chloride penetration in recycled aggregate concrete based on random convex polygon aggregate model

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
The durability of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) in the marine environment is mainly influenced by chloride attack. In this paper, the chloride transport law in RAC with different recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) contents was investigated by dry-wet ...

Merchant and regulated storage investment in energy and reserve markets: A Stackelberg game

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2023
With large‐scale integration of renewable generation, energy storage is expected to play an important role in providing flexibility to energy systems. In this paper, the authors construct a trilevel Stackelberg game model to study the co‐investment of ...

Traditional grain storage methods: An exploration of their contribution to the sustainability of Indian agriculture

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture, 2023
Despite having a wide variety of traditional grain storage structures that serve to store up to 70% of the total amount of grains produced, India loses more than 14 million tonnes of food grain in storage every year.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
