Modelling the impact of design rainfall on the urban drainage system by Storm Water Management Model

open access: yesJournal of Water and Land Development, 2019
Flood modelling is an effective way to manage the stormwater network in cities. It aims to understand and predict the behaviour of stormwater network so that it can test and evaluate effective solutions to structural and operational problems.

Decision support system for managing stormwater and greywater quality in informal settlements in South Africa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Managing the quality of stormwater and greywater in informal settlements are essential to their growth. In this thesis, methodologies are developed for the assessment and management of stormwater and greywater quality based on the analysis of both ...

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Sustainable Catalyst‐Free PLG Networks: Recyclability, Biodegradability, and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐additive free covalent adaptable network is developed from star‐shaped poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) cross‐linked with pyromellitic dianhydride, enabling internal carboxylic acid‐driven transesterification. The resulting biodegradable network exhibits mechanical robustness (Young's modulus ≈1.6 GPa), complete recyclability, rapid biodegradation

Quantifying stream phosphorus dynamics and total suspended sediment export in forested watersheds in Vermont [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Globally the quantity of reactive phosphorus (P) in soils, streams and groundwater has greatly increased throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries. This phenomenon is problematic in Vermont, evidenced by the repeated cyanobacteria blooms in shallow ...

Augmentation of the urban green infrastructure using stormwater surface runoff as a resource in the NICE expressway, Karnataka, India

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Engineering and Landscape Management, 2022
Urban areas, characterized by impervious surfaces, produce storm water runoff which during unexpected heavy rainfall exceeds the carrying capacity of the storm water drainage system causing urban flooding.

Drainage area characterization for evaluating green infrastructure using the Storm Water Management Model.

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2017
Urban stormwater runoff quantity and quality are strongly dependent upon catchment properties. Models are used to simulate the runoff characteristics, but the output from a stormwater management model is dependent on how the catchment area is subdivided ...

Metronidazole‐Loaded Cyclodextrin Nanogels for Antibacterial Therapy and Microbiota Regulation in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A methacrylamide β‐cyclodextrin‐based nanogel (MACD nGel) is developed to load the antimicrobial drug Metronidazole (MNZ) for topical delivery for the treatment of periodontitis. It is demonstrated that cyclodextrin nanogel (nGel) loaded with metronidazole provides an efficient drug delivery route but also has potential clinical applications and offers
