Compound Flooding Hazards Due To Storm Surge and Pluvial Flow in a Low‐Gradient Coastal Region

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Flood risk analyses often focus on a single flooding source, typically storm surge or rainfall‐driven flooding, depending on the predominant threat. However, hurricanes frequently cause compound flooding through significant storm surges accompanied by ...

Real‐Time 3D Ultrasound Imaging with an Ultra‐Sparse, Low Power Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a novel, ultra‐sparse ultrasound architecture that paves the way for wearable real‐time 3D imaging. By integrating a unique convolutional array with chirped data acquisition, the system achieves high‐resolution volumetric scans at a fraction of the power and hardware complexity.

Shapeshifting Liquid Metal Droplets for Soft Fluidic Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented a liquid metal shape shifting strategy which harnesses Lorentz force, surface tension and fluid instabilities to achieve autonomous fluidic power. By using a liquid metal droplet as a mobile current carrier, this strategy enables the development of low‐voltage, self‐oscillating pumps that outperform existing soft pumps.

Runoff assessment by Storm water management model (SWMM)- A new approach

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Natural Science, 2021
The present study investigated the storm wise runoff collected in farm pond with the runoff estimated by Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) and Soil Conservation Service (SCS-CN) models. The SWMM and SCS-CN models estimated runoff depth storm wise. The runoff depths correspond to the catchment area given the runoff volume from the catchment.

Unveiling the Role of Curvature in Carbon for Improved Energy Release of Ammonium Perchlorate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
High‐curvature carbon materials identified via machine learning and simulation can enhance the heat release and combustion performance of ammonium perchlorate. ABSTRACT The catalytic role of carbon curvature in the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) remains largely unexplored. To address this gap, this study employs machine learning and

Optimization of a storm drainage network using the storm water management model software in different scenarios

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract The research developed was based on the design and optimization of a storm drainage network, with the objective of finding solutions to possible flooding events. For this purpose, three study areas of different topographic conditions were defined in the city of San Jose de Cucuta, Colombia, with an extension of 16.82 ha (high ...
