Tree box performance in exfiltrating stormwater runoff. [PDF]

open access: yesWater Environ Res, 2020
AbstractThis study determines the exfiltration rates in six tree boxes with embedded sensors and analyzes their hydrologic performance for 2 years to quantify the effect of different parameters (i.e., water depth, temperature, and age) on the exfiltration rate. Each tree box is 1.5 m wide, 1.5 m long, and 1.8 m deep.

Composition of nitrogen in urban residential stormwater runoff: Concentrations, loads, and source characterization of nitrate and organic nitrogen. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Stormwater runoff is a leading cause of nitrogen (N) transport to water bodies and hence one means of water quality deterioration. Stormwater runoff was monitored in an urban residential catchment (drainage area: 3.89 hectares) in Florida, United States ...

Stormwater runoff driven phosphorus transport in an urban residential catchment: Implications for protecting water quality in urban watersheds [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Increased stormwater runoff in urban watersheds is a leading cause of nonpoint phosphorus (P) pollution. We investigated the concentrations, forms, and temporal trends of P in stormwater runoff from a residential catchment (31 low-density residential ...

Common Pollutants in Stormwater Runoff and Actions that Homeowners Can Take to Reduce Stormwater Pollution

open access: yesEDIS, 2023
This publication explains what happens when stormwater runoff enters constructed environments, its impacts on water bodies, and how individuals can take steps to lower their own stormwater runoff footprint.

Analysis of the Migration Characteristics of Stormwater Runoff Pollutants on Different Underlying Surfaces in Guangzhou, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
Stormwater runoff is identified as urban nonpoint source pollution that increasingly introduces contaminants to urban water bodies and impedes sustainable development.

Conservation Subdivision: Construction Phase—Low Impact Development (LID) and Stormwater Treatment

open access: yesEDIS, 2012
Because so much area in subdivisions is covered by impervious surfaces such as roads, buildings, and driveways, stormwater runoff must be accounted for and treated to prevent flooding and to remove contaminates.

Stormwater reuse for water-sensitive city – Integrated analysis of urban hydrology for efficient alternatives of Amaravati city, India

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2023
In the present study, Amaravati, a proposed city of Andhra Pradesh, India, is identified for stormwater reuse analysis and for various efficient options for reuse. Peak runoff from the entire catchment is determined for the management of stormwater using
