Straight-line drawings of binary trees with linear area and arbitrary aspect ratio

open access: yes, 2002
Trees are usually drawn planar, i.e. without any edge-crossings. In this paper, we investigate the area requirement of (non-upward) planar straight-line grid drawings of binary trees. Let T be a binary tree with n nodes.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

A Linear Time Algorithm for Constructing Maximally Symmetric Straight-Line Drawings of Planar Graphs

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents a linear time algorithm for constructing maximally symmetric straight-line drawings of biconnected and one-connected planar graphs. This research was partially supported by a grant from the Australian Research Council.

Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.

Really Straight Graph Drawings

open access: yes, 2004
We study straight-line drawings of graphs with few segments and few slopes. Optimal results are obtained for all trees. Tight bounds are obtained for outerplanar graphs, 2-trees, and planar 3-trees.

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

Optimization of Straight–Line Code Revisited

open access: yes, 2005
In this report we study the e#ect of an optimizing algorithm for straight--line code which first constructs a directed acyclic graph representing the given program and then generates code from it.
