Plane-Strain Bending With Isotropic Strain Hardening at Large Strains

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2010
Finite deformation elastic-plastic analysis of plane-strain pure bending of a strain hardening sheet is presented. The general closed-form solution is proposed for an arbitrary isotropic hardening law assuming that the material is incompressible. Explicit relations are given for most popular conventional laws.

Development of four self-report measures of job stressors and strain: Interpersonal Conflict at Work Scale, Organizational Constraints Scale, Quantitative Workload Inventory, and Physical Symptoms Inventory.

Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, 1998
Despite the widespread use of self-report measures of both job-related stressors and strains, relatively few carefully developed scales for which validity data exist are available. In this article, we discuss 3 job stressor scales (Interpersonal Conflict

Straining the Strain Diagnosis

2020
Abstract In this case, a woman in her late 30s was brought to the emergency department (ED) following a motor vehicle collision. She was a passenger in a car that was T-boned on the passenger side. Her principal complaint was neck pain. After plain radiographs showed no bony injury, she was discharged with cervical strain.

Adductor Strain (Groin Strain)

2017
Adductor tendonitis is pain at the medial groin secondary to injury to the adductor muscle group or its insertional site. It is believed to be caused by inflammation and collagen dysfunction due to microtrauma during activities that require bursts of speed or quick directional changes.

Highly stretchable and sensitive strain sensor based on silver nanowire-elastomer nanocomposite.

ACS Nano, 2014
The demand for flexible and wearable electronic devices is increasing due to their facile interaction with human body. Flexible, stretchable and wearable sensors can be easily mounted on clothing or directly attached onto the body.

Asymmetric strain in nanoscale patterned strained-Si/strained-Ge/strained-Si heterostructures on insulator

Applied Physics Letters, 2007
The engineering of asymmetric strain is demonstrated in nanoscale patterned strained-Si/strained-Ge/strained-Si heterostructure on insulator with body thickness of 15nm. Starting material has layers with symmetric in-plane strain, including biaxial strained Si (∼1.8%, tension) and biaxial strained Ge (∼1.8%, compression).

Stress-strain behaviour at finite strains for various strain paths in polyethylene

Journal of Materials Science, 1992
In order to provide new experimental facts required for constructing a non-linear constitutive equation for crystalline polymers, some tests were conducted by the use of polyethylene (PE) under various strain histories such as tension, torsion, tension-torsion proportional strain path, tension-torsion cruciform strain path, tension-torsion circular ...

Stretchable Ti3C2Tx MXene/Carbon Nanotube Composite Based Strain Sensor with Ultrahigh Sensitivity and Tunable Sensing Range.

ACS Nano, 2017
It remains challenging to fabricate strain-sensing materials and exquisite geometric constructions for integrating extraordinary sensitivity, low strain detectability, high stretchability, tunable sensing range, and thin device dimensions into a single ...

Strain Basics and Global Longitudinal Strain [PDF]

open access: possible, 2018
Measurement of myocardial global longitudinal strain (GLS) is no longer a research tool. Rather, GLS is now used for risk assessment and management of patients with a wide variety of clinical disorders. GLS is clearly a useful supplement to routine quantitative analysis of left ventricular performance along with ejection fraction and left ventricular ...
