Beam Model for Seismic Analysis of Complex Shear Wall Structure based on the Strain Energy Equivalence.

open access: yesJSME International Journal Series C, 1997
A nuclear reactor building structure consists of shear walls with complex geometry, beams and columns. The complexity of the structure is explained in the section 'Introduction'. Seismic analysis of the complex reactor building structure using the continuum mechanics approach may produce good results but this method is very difficult to apply.

Annual Energy Outlook [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The Annual Energy Outlook 2009 (AEO2009), prepared by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), presents long-term projections of energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030, based on results from EIA’s National Energy Modeling System (NEMS).

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Equivalence of switching linear systems by bisimulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A general notion of hybrid bisimulation is proposed for the class of switching linear systems. Connections between the notions of bisimulation-based equivalence, state-space equivalence, algebraic and input–output equivalence are investigated.

Identification and characterization of a gene conferring stress resistance in Escherichia coli and cyanobacteria

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Functional screening identified PcSyn14890, a cyanobacteria‐specific protein that enhances growth and stress resistance in E. coli and Synechocystis PCC6803. Although we expected it to function as a molecular chaperone, it was unable to protect against thermal aggregation of GAPDH.

Strain wave structure of electron and positron

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
By treating physical space as an elastic continuum, we show that elementary particles and their fields can be represented by stress–strain wave packets in the elastic space continuum.

RESEARCH ON ESTIMATION OF UNIAXIAL CONSTITUTIVE RELATIONSHIP OF METAL MATERIAL BY SMALL PUNCH TEST OF STRIP-TYPE SPECIMEN

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2021
The empirical correlation method of small punch test is the main method to obtain the mechanical properties of macroscopic materials. However, owing to the empirical correlation method is limited by the test device of small punch test and the size of ...

Determinants of undergraduate bioscience engagement: Validating attendance barriers and classroom spatial behaviour across institutions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Student engagement extends beyond simple attendance. Across 891 bioscience students from three universities, attendance behaviour was associated mainly with structural influences, whereas classroom spatial behaviour reflected affective and sensory factors.

Energy laboratory data and model directory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
Over the past several years M.I.T. faculty, staff, and students have produced a substantial body of research and analysis relating to the production, conversion, and use of energy in domestic and international markets.
