Stratification Trees for Adaptive Randomization in Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yes, 2020
This paper proposes an adaptive randomization procedure for two-stage randomized controlled trials. The method uses data from a first-wave experiment in order to determine how to stratify in a second wave of the experiment, where the objective is to ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Strata Titles Management Disputes: Strata Titles Board Under the Strata Titles Act 1985 and Strata Management Tribunal Under Strata Management Act 2013

open access: yesInternational Journal of Asian Social Science, 2018
The Strata Titles Board (“STB”) is given the power to hear and determine disputes upon an application being made by the parcel owners or MC or any person or body having a registered interest in a parcel. However, there are various unconfirmed reasons for the failure of the establishment of the STB.

Strata-Sphere

open access: yes, 2016
The intention of this project was to extend an exploration of building with wood, its unique characteristics as a material, and the use of wood joinery techniques. The result is a building system based on modular pieces of plywood joined by way of both compression and tension and an overlapping/underlapping method of attachment.

Variance estimation for measures of change in probability sampling

open access: yes, 2003
We propose to estimate the design variance of absolute changes between two cross-sectional estimators under rotating sampling schemes. We show that the variance estimator proposed is generally positive.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Enhancing Load Stratification in Power Distribution Systems Through Clustering Algorithms: A Practical Study

open access: yesEnergies
Accurate load profile identification is crucial for effective and sustainable power system planning. This study proposes a characterization methodology based on clustering techniques applied to consumption data from medium- and low-voltage users, as well

Some aspects of the cenozoic geology of the Moawhango River region, in the Army training area in Waiouru, North Island, New Zealand : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Quaternary Geology at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Late Tertiary marine strata of the Waiouru Formation were unconformably deposited on a dissected Late Cretaceous peneplain surface of unusually high relief formed on Torlesse Supergroup greywacke at Waiouru. Central North Island, New Zealand.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
