A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Study on immobilization of composite pollutants in antimony mining areas by target-enriched sulfate-reducing bacteria from antimony tailings

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Remediating composite pollution in antimony mining areas, characterized by coexisting anionic metalloids (Sb, As) and cationic heavy metals (e.g., Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn), remains a significant challenge.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Development characteristics and river blocking outburst analysis of Shadong landslide in the upper reaches of Jinsha River

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi
The Shadong landslide, located in the Jinsha suture belt, exhibits significant signs of deformation. It is a high risk of developing into a disaster chain of landslide, river blockage, and flood, posing a serious threat to major engineering construction,

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Study on the law and mechanism by which oxalic acid dissolves tungstic acid

open access: yesBMC Chemistry
The traditional alkali autoclaving tungsten smelting process has several disadvantages, such as high production costs, high water consumption and prominent “three wastes” problem, all of which seriously hinder the sustainable development of the tungsten ...

Multi-model assessment and thermodynamic prediction for oxalate-tungstate complexes

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
To address the critical bottleneck of lacking fundamental thermodynamic data in the development of a new process for dissolving scheelite hydrochloric acid decomposition residues using oxalic acid, this study systematically evaluated the predictive ...
