Journal of Economics, 2014The Routh–Hurwitz stability condition is disentangled for choice variables that are strategic substitutes or strategic complements. This yields distinct stability conditions that are not necessarily symmetric. Two examples illustrate this result.

At one level, there are the geographical conditions such as disputing territorial claims that lead policy-makers to perceive the increased propensities for inter-state conflict in a given region.
