Site Stratification and Cultural Stratification

2017
This chapter describes site stratigraphy. Site deposition appears to have been dominated by windblown sand that was sufficient to bury lithic assemblages creating a stratified sequence at Harney Flats. Excavation profiles at Harney Flats were dominated by some two meters of pedogenically modified sands.

Risk stratification

Best Practice & Research Clinical Anaesthesiology, 2008
Perioperative cardiac complications pose the greatest risk to the estimated 100 million people undergoing non-cardiac surgery each year. Most of these complications are related to underlying pre-existing coronary artery disease (CAD). For over 40 years researchers have been studying perioperative cardiac risk and how best to estimate it.

Semantics and Stratification

Journal of Logic and Computation, 2005
Summary: This is a continuation of a paper in which the role of types in semantic theory was explored. Inevitably, in that paper some issues in type theory and semantics were treated only in passing. In particular, little was said about Stratified Type Theories. This paper concentrates on these theories and provides a theoretical framework for semantic

EFFICIENT PARETO STRATIFICATION

Mathematical Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, 2006
Summary: If stratification boundaries are taken in geometric progression, then the Pareto distributions give equal coefficients of variation on strata. This stratification method does not, however, satisfy exactly the Dalenius condition [\textit{T. Dalenius}, Skand. Aktuarie Tidskr.

The Stratifications of Hydrogen

Scientific American, 1902
Abstract The following pages give the outcome of attempts to prepare pure hydrogen, and experiments on the stratifications exhibited by the purified gas under the influence of an induction current. The researches were commenced in 1884 and have been continued intermittently to the present time.

Stratification of Bile

Australasian Radiology, 1973
Summary The types of stratification seen in the cholecystogram together with the edge-ring are demonstrated and the literature reviewed. Stratification which can be determined radio-graphically occurs in the majority of normal people after an all-night fast and before the first meal of the day. It disappears shortly afterwards. It is a normal

Sexual Stratification and Social Stratification

The British Journal of Sociology, 1977
Much of sociology today is concerned with the study of inequalities, of which inequality between the sexes is one aspect. I wish to argue the case that the study of sexual inequality has thrown up ideas which help in the understanding of all kinds of structured inequality as well as that between men and women.

Flume experiments on the production of stratification and cross-stratification

Journal of Sedimentary Research, 1956
ABSTRACT Experiments are being conducted in flumes designed to simulate conditions of deposition (1) through stream current action, and (2) by slumping into a standing body of water. Previous experiments, made in a wind tunnel with dry sand, formed deposits (1) by wind currents and (2) by avalanching down steep slopes.
