Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Towards a theory for vortex filaments in stratified-rotating fluids
International audienceIn inviscid fluids with uniform density, it is common to idealize three-dimensional vortex tubes by filaments (i.e., single lines of an infinitesimal cross section).

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Limiting amplitude principle for acoustic propagators in perturbed stratified fluids
By use of the commutator method, we study the resolvent estimate at low frequencies of acoustic operators −c(x)2 Δ in perturbed stratified fluids and prove the principle of limiting amplitude for such ...

Variational discretization for rotating stratified fluids [PDF]
International audienceIn this paper we develop and test a structure-preserving discretization scheme for rotating and/or stratified fluid dynamics. The numerical scheme is based on a finite dimensional approximation of the group of volume preserving ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Small Movements of a System of Ideal Stratified Fluids Completely Covered with Crumbled Ice
We study the problem on small motions of two non mixing ideal stratified fluids with a free surface, covered with crumbling ice. Using method of orthogonal projecting the boundary conditions on the moving surface and the introduction of auxiliary ...

Long solitary waves in compressible shallow fluids
Long solitary waves in incompressible density stratified fluids are described, to the first order in wave amplitude by the Korteweg-de Vries equation. A well-known solution of this equation represents a single solitary wave that has the familiar "sech2 ...
