Impact of multiscale dynamical processes and mixing on the chemical composition of the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere during the Intercontinental Chemical Transport Experiment–North America [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We use high-frequency in situ observations made from the DC8 to examine fine-scale tracer structure and correlations observed in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere during INTEX-NA.

Climate and stratospheric ozone during the mid-Holocene and Last Interglacial simulated by MRI-ESM2.0 [PDF]

open access: yesClimate of the Past
The climates of the mid-Holocene (MH) and Last Interglacial (LIG) are characterised by warm periods caused by astronomical forcing and climate feedback.

Sustainability Assessment of Circular Strategies in the Agri‐Food Industry: The Case of Olive Mills' By‐Product Valorization

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study integrates multidimensional sustainability indicators into a unified assessment approach to evaluate circular strategies in agri‐food industry businesses. This methodological approach is applied to empirically examine the case of the olive oil industry's by‐product valorization.

Large and increasing stratospheric contribution to tropospheric ozone over East Asia [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics
Severe surface ozone pollution in South Korea and China in May–June is due in part to an elevated background subsiding from the free troposphere (750–350 hPa).

Ozone database in support of CMIP5 simulations: results and corresponding radiative forcing [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2011
A continuous tropospheric and stratospheric vertically resolved ozone time series, from 1850 to 2099, has been generated to be used as forcing in global climate models that do not include interactive chemistry.

Stratospheric impact on the Northern Hemisphere winter and spring ozone interannual variability in the troposphere [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2020
In this study we use ozone and stratospheric ozone tracer simulations from the high-resolution (0.5∘×0.5∘) Goddard Earth Observing System, Version 5 (GEOS-5), in a replay mode to study the impact of stratospheric ozone on tropospheric ozone interannual ...

Large Proportions of Surface Ozone and Premature Mortality Due to a Stratospheric Intrusion Event in North China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This study, by examining a typical stratospheric intrusion event that occurred in North China from 30 to 31 July 2021, found that the event led to a sharp increase in near‐surface ozone concentrations by 23 ppbv within 36 h, accounting for 40% of the total observed ozone levels, with localised peaks exceeding 30 ppbv.

New insights into the stratospheric and mesosphere-lower thermospheric ozone response to the abrupt changes in solar forcing [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2011
Using a unique set of satellite based observations of the vertical distribution of ozone during the recent annular solar eclipse of 15 January 2010, we demonstrate for the first time, a complete picture of the response of stratospheric ozone to abrupt

Recent Developments in Sustainable Composites for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs): A Review

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review presents the potential of using natural plant fibers and biodegradable polymers as sustainable printed circuit boards (PCBs). This review provides future directions in innovation and sustainable PCBs development. Bio‐composites PCBs are both environmentally friendly and sustainable due to the natural fibres they contain.
