Isomonodromic deformations of connections with singularities of parahoric formal type

open access: yes, 2011
In previous work, the authors have developed a geometric theory of fundamental strata to study connections on the projective line with irregular singularities of parahoric formal type.

Experimental study and evaluation on influence of deep alluvium foundation suffusion on deformation of soil skeleton in foundation of Luding Hydropower Station

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
Suffusion of stratum ① in deep alluvium foundation of Luding Hydropower Station induces water gushing incident. Continuous migration of fine particles may induce skeleton deformation, and then it may threat the safety of Luding Dam, downstream cascade ...

Stratification Failure Mechanism of Coal Pillar Floor Strata with Different Strength in Short Distance Coal Seams

open access: yesGeofluids, 2022
The failure of strata with different strength under coal pillar in close distance coal seams has its particularity. Theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and similar test were used to obtain the failure mechanism of the soft and hard stratification

Numerical analysis of metro station pit dewatering and its influence

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2023
The underground water level in Xi’an city is generally shallow, and the excavation of the deep foundation pit mainly needs underground water dewatering. The ground deformation due to the dewatering and its influences should be fully analyzed.

Simultaneous semi-stable reduction for curves with ADE singularities

open access: yes, 2012
A key tool in the study of algebraic surfaces and their moduli is Brieskorn's simultaneous resolution for families of algebraic surfaces with simple (du Val or ADE) singularities.

Hyperbolic Dehn filling in dimension four

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce and study some deformations of complete finite-volume hyperbolic four-manifolds that may be interpreted as four-dimensional analogues of Thurston's hyperbolic Dehn filling.

Progressive Deformation Failure Characteristics of Highway Tunnel Working Face in Sand Pebble Stratum

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2020
Abstract The sand pebble stratum is typically unstable with discrete particles. The most important constituent elements are sand and pebbles. The surrounding rock of tunnels in the sand and pebble stratum has prominent engineering problems, such as being loose, easy to collapse, and unstable when exposed to water.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Construction Response Simulation Analysis and Construction Parameter Optimization of Curved Shield Construction under Rock-Soil Binary Stratum

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] The rock-soil binary stratum is a typical upper-soft and lower-hard composite stratum. Due to its complex geological conditions, this stratum significantly influences the stratum deformation mechanism and mechanical response of shield tunnel ...

Characterization of land subsidence induced by groundwater withdrawals in Wenyu River alluvial fan, Beijing, China [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences, 2015
The Beijing plain area has suffered from severe land subsidence owing to groundwater overdraft. A major example is the Wenyu River alluvial fan in the Beijing plain area. This area has experienced as much as 10 m of land subsidence through 2000s.
