Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Modeling of the Frictional Behavior at the Contact Surface between the Different Materials Constituting Methane Hydrate Production Well

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2018
Depressurization process is regarded as the most effective process for gas recovery method from the viewpoints of gas productivity and economic efficiency among in-situ dissociation processes of Methane Hydrate (MH) existing in marine sediments. However,

The Ideal Stratum and Deformation Persistence of Knot Types

open access: yes
We study a knot type through the ropelength-filtered spaces of its thick representatives. For a knot type $K$ and a scale parameter $Λ>0$, let $Y_Λ(K)=\mathcal{R}_{1,Λ}(K)$ be the space of representatives of $K$ with thickness at least $1$ and length at most $Λ$, modulo reparametrization and orientation-preserving Euclidean isometries.

Magnetohydrodynamic Flow of Casson Fluid through a Vertical Deformable Porous Stratum

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2018
Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of Casson fluid through a vertical deformable porous stratum is studied. The governing ordinary differential equations of the fluid velocity, the displacement and the heat transfer are solved numerically using shooting technique.

Highly Flexible and Conformable ZnO/FeGa Magnetoelectric Heterostructures for Skin wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The magnetic field‐induced electric field generated by a highly flexile ZnO(piezoelectric)/FeGa(magnetostrictive) magnetoelectric heterostructure embedded in the low Young's modulus elastomer PDMS has been used to stimulate the wound healing processes.

InSAR-Based Multi-Source Monitoring and Modeling of Multi-Seam Mining-Induced Deformation and Hazard Chain Evolution in the Loess Gully Region

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In recent years, coal mining has shifted from surface to underground multi-seam and multi-panel operations, leading to enhanced ground deformation and elevated risks of secondary geo-hazards.

Free Convection Flow of a Jeffrey Fluid through a Vertical Deformable Porous Stratum

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2016
Free convective flow of a Jeffrey fluid in a vertical deformable porous stratum is investigated. It is assumed that heat is generated within the fluid by both viscous and Darcy dissipations. The velocity, displacement and the temperature distributions are evaluated using a perturbation method valid for small values of buoyancy parameter .

Toward Prostate Cancer Early Warning with a Self‐Powered Wearable Biosensing Platform Integrated with Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current prostate cancer detection methods remain limited in non‐invasiveness and specificity, prompting interest in urinary biomarkers such as sarcosine. Here, we report a urine‐powered wearable platform for non‐invasive sarcosine detection as a proof‐of‐concept for decentralized early warning.
