Mechanism and Simulation of Water–Heat–Salt Coupling Process Regulated by Tillage Measures and Straw Return in Cold Black Soil

open access: yesAgriculture
This study investigates the synergistic regulation mechanism of water–heat–salt transport in the black soil of cold regions in Northeast China by combining field monitoring with HYDRUS-2D simulations. Four tillage treatments were evaluated: control group

Reducing Ammonia Emission during Food Waste Composting and Enhancing Compost Quality Using Different Additives

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
This research successfully reduces the ammonia emission by 45% and achieves good quality compost using additives (lactic acid or acetic acid) and bulking agents (mature compost or sawdust). The study supports Sustainable Development Goals 12 and 13 by promoting waste‐to‐resource option.

Co-incorporation of green manure and rice straw with reduced synthetic fertilizer benefits rice yield while decreasing gaseous N losses in double-cropped rice fields

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research
Co-incorporation of green manure and rice straw in paddy fields is an effective practice to increase rice yield and N uptake, while the mechanisms of the application of green manure and rice straw on NH 3 and N 2 O emissions are still unclear.

Lichen‐Derived Mineral Residue as a Renewable Particulate Filler in Polylactic Acid Biocomposites: Structure, Melt Rheology, Viscoelastic, and Flexural Behavior

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Lichen residue, a renewable mineral‐organic material, was melt compounded with polylactic acid and triacetin in a twin‐screw extruder. ABSTRACT A lichen‐derived natural material, known as “höllük” in southeastern Turkey, is introduced as a renewable filler for polylactic acid (PLA).
