Interval event stream processing

Proceedings of the Third ACM International Conference on Distributed Event-Based Systems, 2009
Event stream processing (ESP) has become increasingly important in modern applications, ranging from supply chain management to real-time intrusion detection. Existing ESP engines have focused on detecting temporal patterns from instantaneous events, that is, events with no duration. Under such a model, an event instance can only be happening "before",

Optimization of data stream processing

ACM SIGMOD Record, 2004
Efficient processing of unlimited and continuously expanding sequences of data items is one of the key factors in the implementations of Data Stream Management Systems (DSMS). Analysis of stream processing at the dataflow level reveals execution plans which are not visible at a logical level.

ASPEN: A stream processing environment

1989
In this paper, we describe ASPEN, a concurrent stream processing environment. ASPEN is novel in that it provides a programming model in which programmers use simple annotations to exploit varying degrees and types of concurrency. The degree of concurrency to be exploited is not fixed by the program specification or by the underlying system.

Streaming graph processing and analytics

Proceedings of the 14th ACM International Conference on Distributed and Event-based Systems, 2020
Graphs are now ubiquitous as many applications emerge where the relationships among entities are paramount and require being modeled as first-class objects. Graph database systems empower such applications by enabling querying and processing both the data stored on the graph and its topology, and they have gained significant attention both in industry ...

Research on the Stream ETL Process

2014
Continuously growing importance of information assisted by rapid development of systems that collect and process huge volumes of data has become a great problem in terms of processing and analyzing data. The response to current and future needs of market is a data warehouse assisted by process of data extraction.

The Anatomy of a Stream Processing System

2006
Data intensive applications such as network monitoring, financial applications; sensor-based applications etc. need to be supported by general-purpose systems rather than customized implementations. They have a continuous, unpredictable and unbounded flow of data as input, referred as streams.
