Nonlinear response of streamflow to groundwater pumping for a hydrologic streamflow model
Advances in Water Resources, 2004Groundwater management models that combine optimization methods with coupled stream/aquifer simulation models are considered. Designing algorithms to solve these problems benefits from improved understanding of the nature of the functional relationship between well extraction and streamflow.

Unsteady streamflow modeling guidelines
Journal of Hydrology, 1979Abstract Presented herein is a case study of one-dimensional modeling of spatially varied unsteady flow regime in a river, utilizing the continuity and momentum formulations of Saint-Venant equations. The emphasis is on sensitivity analyses of the modeling framework for obtaining guidelines for modeling exercises.

SIMULATION OF STREAMFLOW IN SCOTLAND [PDF]
Synopsis The application of mathematical models for simulating the processes of the hydrological cycle is considered and the results of applying a translated version of the stanford watershed model to the River Clyde in Scotland are presented.

Streamflow trends in Switzerland
Journal of Hydrology, 2005Abstract Mean daily streamflow records from 48 watersheds in Switzerland with an undisturbed runoff regime are analysed for trends with the Mann–Kendall nonparametric test in three study periods (1931–2000, 1961–2000, 1971–2000). The statistical significance of trends is tested for each station on an annual and seasonal basis and for different ...

Disaggregation of Streamflow Volumes
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1979A disaggregation model, which differs from those developed by Valencia and Schaake (VS) and Mejia and Rousselle (MR) (referred to as the HB model), was developed specifically to preserve correlations between seasons joining water years in addition to the properties preserved by the basic VS model.

Half-flow dates, defined as the dates on which half of the year's total stream-flow has passed, appear to be useful measures of streamflow ‘timing.’ For studying possible changes in streamflow regime caused by watershed management practices, especially vegetational manipulation aimed at increasing snowpack and delaying snowmelt, half-flow dates seem to

Hydrological Sciences Journal, 2012
Abstract This study presents the first comprehensive nationwide trend detection of streamflow in Nepal, a country that has been historically understudied despite its critical location as the southern pathway for most of the Himalayan snowpack melt and torrential seasonal monsoon rains.

Mechanism for Streamflow Meandering
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1974The mechanisms of meandering are reckoned to depend on the vorticity of the flow and the erodibility of the channel. A theoretical model is used to calculate meander shapes resulting from various assumed values of the controlling mechanisms. These results are compared with some of the known meander characteristics and the applications for sediment ...

A daily multiple-station streamflow simulator is developed using a first order Markov chain and regression analysis techniques. Historical flow records of two gaging stations on the Calapooia River in Oregon are analyzed and the hydrographs rearranged to reduce the observed variations of flow within any particular day and between each day ...
