SWEclat: a frequent itemset mining algorithm over streaming data using Spark Streaming

open access: yesJournal of Supercomputing, 2020
Finding frequent itemsets in a continuous streaming data is an important data mining task which is widely used in network monitoring, Internet of Things data analysis and so on.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

An Efficient Streaming Algorithm for the Submodular Cover Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We initiate the study of the classical Submodular Cover (SC) problem in the data streaming model which we refer to as the Streaming Submodular Cover (SSC).

Renewable estimation and incremental inference in generalized linear models with streaming data sets

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series B (Statistical Methodology), 2019
The paper presents an incremental updating algorithm to analyse streaming data sets using generalized linear models. The method proposed is formulated within a new framework of renewable estimation and incremental inference, in which the maximum ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Variability in Data Streams [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 35th ACM SIGMOD-SIGACT-SIGAI Symposium on Principles of Database Systems, 2016
We consider the problem of tracking with small relative error an integer function $f(n)$ defined by a distributed update stream $f'(n)$. Existing streaming algorithms with worst-case guarantees for this problem assume $f(n)$ to be monotone; there are very large lower bounds on the space requirements for summarizing a distributed non-monotonic stream ...

Feasibility of Harvesting Power To Run A Domestic Water Meter Using Streaming Cell Technology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the possibility of using streaming cells as a means of harvesting energy from the town water supply. We measure the electrical power developed from streaming cells using tap water as a working fluid.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
