The cost model for fragmented XML streams

The 2nd International Conference on Information Science and Engineering, 2010
The cost-model for XML stream is the theory foundation in the research of XML stream dissemination, fragmentation and evaluation. According to the matching operations in fragmented XML stream system, this paper analyzes the features of the system overhead on client, network and server, and brings in the cost model for fragmented XML stream based on ...

Efficiently loading and processing XML streams

Proceedings of the 2008 international symposium on Database engineering & applications - IDEAS '08, 2008
XML stream applications bring the novel challenge of efficiently processing queries on sequentially accessible token-based input streams. Our Raindrop project is the first to accommodate token-based stream processing using an algebraic framework where both tokens and tuples are modeled in a uniform manner.

XML Stream Processing

2010
This chapter reviews recent advances on stream XML query evaluation algorithms with stack-based encoding of intermediary data. Originally proposed for disk-resident XML, the stack-based architecture has been extended for streaming algorithms for both single and multiple query processing, ranging from XPath filtering to more complex XQuery.

XML Stream Query Processing

2010
Stream applications bring the challenge of efficiently processing queries on sequentially accessible XML data streams. In this chapter, the authors study the current techniques and open challenges of XML stream processing. Firstly, they examine the input data semantics in XML streams and introduce the state-of-the-art of XML stream processing. Secondly,

Query processing of streamed XML data

Proceedings of the eleventh international conference on Information and knowledge management - CIKM '02, 2002
We are addressing the efficient processing of continuous XML streams, in which the server broadcasts XML data to multiple clients concurrently through a multicast data stream, while each client is fully responsible for processing the stream. In our framework, a server may disseminate XML fragments from multiple documents in the same stream, can repeat ...

A stream-based implementation of XML encryption

Proceedings of the 2002 ACM workshop on XML security -, 2002
W3C has been working on the standardization of XML Encryption and released its specification as a W3C Proposed Recommendation in 2002. There are several implementations of the specification, all of which are implemented using DOM. However, it is commonly accepted that DOM has higher costs in time and space than other APIs.

Filtering XML Streams by XPath and Keywords

Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services, 2014
With the rise of Web search engines, processing keyword search over XML and XML streams has drawn much attention from many researchers. Compared to conventional query methods, keyword search has several benefits for its simplicity and its user-friendliness in querying XML databases. Therefore, a great deal of effort has been put on this search paradigm

Efficient Query Processing for Streamed XML Fragments

2006
Unlike in traditional databases, queries on XML streams are bounded not only by memory but also by real time processing. Recently proposed Hole-Filler model is promising for information transmission and publication, by slicing XML data into low consuming, easy synchronized fragments.

Query Processing for Heterogeneous XML Streams

2008 IEEE 8th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology Workshops, 2008
The problem of processing XML streaming data fits a large class of new applications and has been a hot spot recently. The XML streams on the World Wide Web are usually autonomous, distributed and heterogeneity. All existing methods, however, do not support processing a collection of XML streams from heterogeneity data sources. In this paper, we address

The XML Stream Query Processor SPEX

21st International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE'05), 2005
Data streams are an emerging technology for data dissemination in cases where the data throughput or size makes it unfeasible to rely on the conventional approach based on storing the data before processing it. SPEX evaluates XPath queries against XML data streams.
