Filtering compressed XML streams

2007
'Information Filtering' is the problem of extracting data we desire from a corpus of data. The task of 'filtering' depends heavily on the format of that corpus. For example, the corpus may be a stationary relational database, flat-file, collection of files, or, in the case of a news feed, may be continually 'streamed' to clients.

The Optimization of Complex XML Queries over XML Streams under DTD

2006 Seventh International Conference on Web-Age Information Management Workshops, 2006
Time and Space complexity is a critical factor for a successful stream-based continuous query processing system. In this paper, we address the optimization of complex XML queries over XML Streams by using the semantic and structural constraints of its DTD. The optimization is preprocessed before the runtime of matching XML stream against user?s queries

Efficient Processing of XML Update Streams

2008 IEEE 24th International Conference on Data Engineering, 2008
This paper introduces a framework for processing continuous, exact queries over continuous update XML streams. Instead of eagerly performing the updates on cached portions of the stream, we propagate the updates through the query evaluation pipeline, all the way to the result display, which prints the query answers.

XML Schema Based Compression Technology over XML Data Stream

2009 Sixth Web Information Systems and Applications Conference, 2009
As XML has become the standard of data exchange and express of internet and e-commerce, it is being more and more widely used, while XML is a kind of self-described language, with a large number of redundant structural information, so that is the hot study now on how to use XML data stream to be reasonable and efficient.

Streaming-Based Verification of XML Signatures in SOAP Messages

2010 6th World Congress on Services, 2010
WS-Security is a standard providing message-level security in Web Services. Therewith, it ensures their integrity, confidentiality, and authenticity. However, using sophisticated security algorithms can lead to high memory consumptions and long evaluation times.

A framework for XML data streams history checking and monitoring

Proceedings of the 15th international conference on World Wide Web, 2006
The need of formal verification is a problem that involves all the fields in which sensible data are managed. In this context the verification of data streams became a fundamental task. The purpose of this paper is to present a framework, based on the model checker SPIN, for the verification of data streams. The proposed method uses a linear temporal ...

Lazy DFA filter based on stream index for XML data streams

2010 International Conference on Educational and Information Technology, 2010
Lazy DFA (Deterministic Finite Automata) is an effective and scalable filtering system of XML documents, but it must parse every element of every XML document. In this paper, we put forward a new method to filter XML documents, called stream index which stores index information of every XML document. By using index information, the application can skip

Benchmarking the Compression of XML Node Streams

2010
In recent years, many approaches to XML twig pattern query processing have been developed. Holistic approaches are particularly significant in that they provide a theoretical model for optimal processing of some query classes and have very low main memory complexity. Holistic algorithms are supported by a stream abstract data type.

Foundation of XML Stream Processing Techniques

2013
The problem of processing streaming XML data is gaining widespread attention from the research community, and various XML stream processing methods are put forward, including automaton-based methods, index-based methods, and so forth. In this chapter, the basic concepts and several existing typical approaches of XML stream processing are discussed ...
