Semi-Analytical Modeling of Transient Stream Drawdown and Depletion in Response to Aquifer Pumping [PDF]

open access: yes
Analytical and semi-analytical models for stream depletion with transient stream stage drawdown induced by groundwater pumping are developed to address a deficiency in existing models, namely, the use of a fixed stream stage condition at the stream-aquifer interface.

Stream Types [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM on Programming Languages
We propose a rich foundational theory of typed data streams and stream transformers, motivated by two high-level goals. First, the type of a stream should be able to express complex sequential patterns of events over time.

Laser Additive Manufacturing of Oxide‐Dispersion‐Strengthened Steels: A Simulation‐Based Comparison Between Powder Bed Fusion and Direct Energy Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the size and distribution of dispersoids is essential for optimizing the performance of oxide‐dispersion‐strengthened steels. This study focuses on nanoparticle dispersion and agglomeration during laser additive manufacturing of Fe20Cr alloy reinforced with ZrO 2 nanoparticles. Utilizing multiphysics phase‐field simulations and nanoparticle

Description of male Tylorida sataraensis Kulkarni, 2014 (Araneae, Tetragnathidae) with notes on habits and conservation status

open access: yesBiodiversity Data Journal, 2015
The male sex of Tylorida sataraensis Kulkarni, 2014 is described based on specimens from the type locality. The distinguishing characters from its closest species Tylorida ventralis (Thorell, 1877) are detailed.

The Dynamics of Star Stream Gaps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
When a massive object crosses a star stream velocity changes are induced both along and transverse to the stream which can lead to the development of a visible gap. For a stream narrow relative to its orbital radius the time of stream crossing is sufficiently short that the impact approximation can be used to derive the changes in angular momenta and ...

Influence of Temperature on Scratch and Wear Properties of Technical Thermoplastics: Implications for Material Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The share of technical thermoplastics is expected to grow further in the e‐mobility segment. In this study, a detailed temperature‐based tribological characterization of technical thermoplastics is performed. The tribological properties are discussed in terms of the dynamic mechanical properties of polymers at different ambient temperatures. A proof of

LiDAR DEM Smoothing and the Preservation of Drainage Features

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Fine-resolution Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data often exhibit excessive surface roughness that can hinder the characterization of topographic shape and the modeling of near-surface flow processes. Digital elevation model (DEM) smoothing methods,

On Streams of Events and Mixtures of Streams

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1966
Summary Distribution functions for streams of events (and, in particular, for the length of the interval “between successive events”) are defined within the framework of the theory of Khintchine (1955). Relationships such as that between the distributions for the length of an “arbitrary interval” between successive events, the interval ...

Development of Aluminum Scandium Alloys for Hydrogen Storage Valves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Different aluminum alloy series and various aluminum‐scandium alloys with differing Sc and Zr levels are evaluated for use in hydrogen storage valve production. The alloys undergo hardness testing, optical microscopy, and tensile strength analysis, with hardening behavior studied under varying conditions.
