In vitro micropropagation of bird of paradise (Strelitzia reginae Ait.), an important commercial ornamental plant, has been studied here. Rhizomes collected from established mother plant were used as explants for establishment of culture on MS medium supplemented with plant growth regulators (PGR), 3% sucrose and gelled with 0.8% agar.
