Antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the fruits of bemavo, a variety of Ravenala madagascariensis Sonn. (Strelitziaceae) [PDF]

This work was designed to evaluate the antibacterial and antioxidant activities of the fruit extracts from bemavo, a variety of Ravenala madagascariensis. Methanolic extracts from pericarp (PME), seed (SME) and aril (AME) were tested against 5 Gram positive and 6 Gram negative of pathogenic bacteria using disk diffusion and microdilution methods.
