Pozzolanic reactivity and strength activity index of mortar containing palm oil clinker pretreated with hydrochloric acid

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2020
Palm oil clinker powder (POCP) is an agro waste material that is often overlooked due to its low pozzolanic reactivity and contaminated with impurities and organic carbon. Therefore this study was proposed to enhance the pozzolanic reactivity of palm oil clinker powder through a chemical pre-treatment process.

Comparison of ASTM C311 Strength Activity Index Testing versus Testing Based on Constant Volumetric Proportions

Journal of ASTM International, 2011
Abstract Currently, the (pozzolanic) strength activity indices of fly ashes and natural pozzolans are typically evaluated using the procedures outlined in ASTM C311 [“Standard Test Methods for Sampling and Testing Fly Ash or Natural Pozzolans for Use in Portland-Cement Concrete,” Annual Book of ASTM Standards, ASTM International, West ...

Change of Quadriceps Muscular strength and Muscle Activity According to Knee Extension Angle and body Mass Index

Medico-Legal Update, 2019
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of body mass index (BMI) on muscle strength and activity according to the knee angle. Muscle activity of vastus medialis (VM), vastus lateralis (VL), and rectus femoris (RF) was measured for 48 healthy adults. Isokinetic equipment was used to measure the isometric strength of the knee extensors at

Strength, Physical Activity, and Body Mass Index: Relationship to Performance‐Based Measures and Activities of Daily Living Among Older Japanese Women in Hawaii

Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 1998
OBJECTIVES: Remaining strong, lean, and physically active may contribute to successful aging, both by maintaining function and by enabling more independent living. The study objective was to investigate this hypothesis among a long‐lived population of older Japanese women.

Association of BODE index to daily living activities and upper limb strength in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

International Journal of Health & Allied Sciences, 2015
Context: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive disease that reduces the functional capacity and the ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL). Aims: To determine the correlation between the BODE index (B - body mass index; O - airflow obstruction; D - dyspnea; and E - exercise capacity) with ADL and grip strength in

Strengths and limitations of the Crohn's disease activity index, revealed by an objective gut lavage test of gastrointestinal protein loss.

Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1996
BACKGROUND: Several factors contribute to overall illness in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. The Crohn's disease activity index (CDAI), correlates closely with symptoms and is widely used to assess efficacy in clinical trials; previous work indicated that a gut lavage test for protein‐losing enteropathy (PLE) may measure the same symptomatic,

[Strength, flexibility, balance, resistance and flexibility assessment according to body mass index in active older women].

Revista espanola de geriatria y gerontologia, 2014
Overweight and obesity are increasing at an alarming rate among older people. This is mainly because this population is predominantly sedentary. The aim of this study was to classify, according to the body mass index (BMI), a group of older active women and to evaluate the different basic physical abilities as a function of this. The BMI and fitness ...
