Epidemiology of Streptococcus agalactiae colonization in Germany
Streptococcus agalactiae can cause severe pneumonia, sepsis and meningitis in neonates and remains one of the most prevalent causes of invasive neonatal infections. Maternal transmission of S. agalactiae during delivery can be prevented by prenatal screening and peripartal antibiotic prophylaxis.

The comparative genomic analysis provides information about how C. tertium HGMC01 strain cause disease through mucin glycan degradation, colonization, multidrug resistance, and modulation of immune responses. Moreover, this analysis data suggest that this strain interacts with host cells by degrading mucin in the gut, potentially through recognition or

Perinatal Streptococcus agalactiae Epidemiology and Surveillance Targets
Streptococcus agalactiae, or group B streptococcus (GBS), is a major neonatal pathogen. Recent data have elucidated the global prevalence of maternal and neonatal colonization, but gaps still remain in the epidemiology of this species.

X‐ray crystal structures of glycosyltransferase C from the Limosilactobacillus reuteri 100‐23 (LrGtfC100‐23) accessory secretion system were determined in its apo form and in complexes with UDP and with UDP‐N‐acetylglucosamine, which revealed candidate residues involved in strain‐specific recognition of UDP‐sugars.

Streptococcus agalactiae Sequence Type 283 in Farmed Fish, Brazil
In 2016 and 2017, we characterized outbreaks caused by Streptococcus agalactiae serotype III sequence type (ST) 283 in Nile tilapia farms in Brazil. Whole-genome multilocus sequence typing clustered the fish isolates together with the zoonotic ST283 and ...

Respiratory admissions and impact of COVID‐19 lockdowns for children with severe cerebral palsy
In a population cohort of children with severe cerebral palsy, there was a reduced frequency of hospitalization for respiratory illness during periods of restricted social contact, implemented to reduce transmission of COVID‐19. This mirrored trends in the wider population and underlines the importance of community viral transmission in these children.
