Stress-Strain Curve

1992
The uniaxial tension test is a convenient method for the determination of mechanical properties of a material. A typical curve in the system nominal stress-Cauchy strain is presented in Fig. 5.1, in which the following characteristic points are indicated: 1: proportional limit σ p ; 2: elastic limit σ H ; 3: yield point σ o ; 3–4: platform of ideal ...

Development of stress/strain curves for 80In15Pb5Ag

Journal of Electronic Materials, 1999
Experimental studies relating stress to strain under large strain conditions were conducted for 80In15Pn5Ag, at strain rates of 0.21 × 10−3 s−1, 0.42 × 10−3 s−1, and 2.1 × 10−3 s−1; and at temperatures of −65, 0, 25, 75, 100, and 125°C. The ultimate tensile stress of 80In15Pb5Ag as a function of temperature and strain rate was plotted.

The cyclic stress-strain curve of polycrystals

Acta Metallurgica, 1982
Abstract The internal stresses implied by the Sachs model are estimated for individual PSBs at low plastic strain amplitudes and for homogeneously sheared grains at higher plastic strain amplitudes. The analysis shows that the Sachs model can account semi-quantitatively for experimentally measured cyclic stress-strain curves for copper.

Stress–strain curves for stainless steel at elevated temperatures

Engineering Structures, 2006
Abstract This paper presents the mechanical properties data of stainless steel at elevated temperatures. Accurate prediction of the material properties of stainless steel at elevated temperatures is necessary for determining the load-carrying capacity of structures under fire conditions.

Universal scaling of the stress-strain curve in amorphous solids

Physical Review E, 2017
The yielding transition of amorphous solids is a phase transition with a special type of universality. Critical exponents and scaling relations have been defined and proposed near the yield stress. We show here that, even in the initial stage of shear far below the yield stress, the stress-strain curve of amorphous solids also shows critical scaling ...

STRESS–STRAIN CURVES FOR FATIGUED RUBBER

Canadian Journal of Research, 1950
It is shown that with natural rubber, vulcanized to soft "gum" rings, extension curves after the first are in two parts, and that the second part does not develop except after severe previous extensions. With molded rings, stretched initially a few per cent short of rupture, these effects are very marked, and the fifth extension curve is in two clearly

Complete triaxial stress–strain curves for geopolymer

Construction and Building Materials, 2014
Abstract Geopolymer is an emerging alternative to Portland cement and is made from fly ash – a waste stream from coal power stations. As a relatively new material, many mechanical properties of geopolymer are still unexplored. In this paper, the stress–strain characteristics of geopolymer under various levels of confining stresses have been studied ...
