Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Dual Cohort Insights Into Accelerometer‐Derived Weekend Warrior Physical Activity and Its Impact on Mortality

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Although guidelines on physical activity recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate‐to‐vigorous exercise weekly for optimal health outcomes, the distinction between concentrated and evenly distributed activity patterns remains unclear.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Origins of Ultrasensitivity and Complex Signaling Dynamics of Cellular Hydrogen Peroxide and Peroxiredoxin

open access: yesAntioxidants
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) plays a crucial role in cell signaling in response to physiological and environmental perturbations. H2O2 can oxidize typical 2-Cys peroxiredoxin (PRX) first into a sulfenic acid, which resolves into a disulfide that can be ...

Method for Particle Size Control During the Drying and Granulation in Fluidized Bed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The fluidized bed process presented in this paper is suitable for recovery of solids from solutions in the form of granules. The solution is sprayed into the bed and as solvent evaporates, solid material is deposited on the surface of fluidizing ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Tumor necrosis factor mediates the impact of PM2.5 on bone mineral density: Inflammatory proteome Mendelian randomization and colocalization analyses

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
To assess the causal effect of particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) on human bone mineral density (BMD) and to explore the possible mechanism and proportion mediated by inflammation-related protein.
