La porta, il ponte, l’architrave. L’idea di cornice nel sistema performativo

open access: yesVenezia Arti, 2014
A detailed investigation of theatre frame has seldom been undertaken, and far less have non-Western theatres been taken into account for the definition of a universal frame theory.

Pirin Transcriptionally Regulates PLA2G4A To Inhibit Ferroptosis in Colorectal Cancer via Lipid Profile Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Pirin (PIR), an iron‐binding protein, as a critical ferroptosis suppressor in colorectal cancer through lipid membrane remodeling. PIR, induced by NRF2 during ferroptotic stress, transcriptionally regulates PLA2G4A to shift cellular lipid composition away from ferroptosis‐permissive polyunsaturated phospholipids.

Photocatalytic Asymmetric C‐C Coupling for CO2 Reduction on Cu‐Zn Bimetallic Catalysts with Dipole‐Limiting Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Asymmetric Cu–Zn dual sites on EDTA‐grafted Ti‐MOF amplify the dipole‐limiting domain field (DLDF), facilitating C–C coupling. This strategy yields an exceptional C2H4 production rate of 308.72 µmol g−1 h−1 with 98.4% electron selectivity in photocatalytic CO2 reduction, highlighting the potential of asymmetric site engineering and local field ...

Without 'Focus'

open access: yesThe Baltic International Yearbook of Cognition, Logic and Communication, 2010
It is widely accepted that a notion of 'focus', more or less as conceived of in Jackendoff (1972), must be incorporated into our theory of grammar, as a means of accounting for certain observed correlations between prosodic facts and semantic/pragmatic ...

An audio-visual investigation of linguistic stress perception [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1989
The true acoustic correlate for linguistic stress has not yet been found. While it was originally thought that listeners base stress judgments on syllable intensity, it has been shown that intensity, fundamental frequency, duration, and spectral structure can all act as effective information for stress perception [D. Isenberg and T. Gay, J. Acoust. Soc.

Machine Learning for Accelerating Energy Materials Discovery: Bridging Quantum Accuracy with Computational Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights how machine learning accelerates sustainable energy materials discovery by integrating quantum‐accurate interatomic potentials with property prediction frameworks. The evolution from statistical methods to physics‐informed neural networks is examined, showcasing applications across batteries, catalysts, and photovoltaics ...

Street Art or Successful Commercial Projects? New Functions of the Symbolic Usage of Language in Linguistic Landscapes of Russian Cities

open access: yesPolylinguality and Transcultural Practices
The urban linguistic landscape is a dynamically developing object of study in linguistics, sociology, economics and marketing. Its texts are able not only to transmit information, but also to serve a decorative - or symbolic - function.

Duration and Intensity as Physical Correlates of Linguistic Stress [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1954
The experiments reported in this paper are an attempt to explore the influence of certain physical cues on the perception of linguistic stress patterns. The material chosen was a group of English words in which a change of function from noun to verb is commonly associated with a shift of stress from the first to the second syllable.

Describing linguistic stress contours of different sentence structures [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1975
Changes in the semantic or syntactic structures of sentences often result in corresponding changes in the linguistic stress contours. In the present study, two sentences were systematically varied from their declarative form to the three following forms: the command form, the YES/NO question form, and the WH-question form.
