Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Theory and methods to prevent and manage occupational stress: Innovations from around the globe

open access: yes, 2014
This special issue of the International Journal of Stress Management responds to recent discussions concerning the limited quantity of published scholarly research on occupational stress-management interventions (SMI).

Interactive effects of drought and high radiation on photosystem II performance and redox homeostasis in soybean (Glycine max L.)

open access: yesScientific Reports
Photosystem II (PSII) is extremely sensitive to drought and high light stress, both of which are expected to increase under changing climate conditions. We studied two soybean cultivars, JS335 and Kalitur, under drought stress, high radiation, and their ...

Stress management and schizophrenia [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychiatry, 2001
Bellack et al ([2000][1]) have addressed the important question of delineating the core therapeutic components of carer-based stress management that account for the improved course of schizophrenic disorders found consistently when these methods have been integrated with optimal pharmacotherapy.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Significance of dietary quinoa husk (Chenopodium quinoa) in gene regulation for stress mitigation in fish

open access: yesScientific Reports
The persistent challenges posed by pollution and climate change are significant factors disrupting ecosystems, particularly aquatic environments. Numerous contaminants found in aquatic systems, such as ammonia and metal toxicity, play a crucial role in ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Manganese nutrient mitigates ammonia, arsenic toxicity and high temperature stress using gene regulation via NFkB mechanism in fish

open access: yesScientific Reports
The ongoing challenges of climate change and pollution are major factors disturbing ecosystems, including aquatic systems. They also have an impact on gene regulation and biochemical changes in aquatic animals, including fish.
