Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Different Zones in an Overmatched Welded Joint Made with D32 Marine Structural Steel

open access: yesMetals, 2023
Applying fracture mechanics theory to heterogeneous welded joints might lead to an uncertain assessment of fatigue crack propagation behavior and, consequently, an inaccurate estimation of the cyclic loading capacity and fatigue life of welded structures.

Effect of High-Temperature Pavement Paving on Fatigue Durability of Bearing-Supported Steel Decks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Orthotropic steel deck (OSD) is a better choice for urban bridges and the replacement of damaged concrete slabs. Gussasphalt concrete (GAC) is usually adopted as the asphalt surfacing; however, the paving temperature of GAC is high, which will affect the

Kynurenine to tryptophan ratio as a biomarker of acute stress in fish [PDF]

open access: yesChemosphere, 2022
The aim of this study was to determine the kynurenine (KYN) to tryptophan (TRP) ratio (KTR) in fish tissue to assess its usefulness as a biomarker of acute stress. Laboratory held rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were subjected to an acute stressor and KYN, TRP and cortisol were measured in liver and brain tissues at 4- and 48-h post-stress.
