Self-recovery of stressed nanomembranes

Applied Physics Letters, 2005
Long-term stability and self-recovery properties were studied for the compliant nanomembranes with a thickness of 55nm free suspended over openings of several hundred microns across. These nanomembranes were assembled with spin-assisted layer-by-layer routines and were composed of polymer multilayers and gold nanoparticles.

Reliable Recovery of Stress Resultants

1994
A new recovery technique which makes use of the principle of virtual work to compute surface tractions and stress resultants is presented herein. Integration of a stress field derived through differentiation of the finite element displacement field is thus avoided.

Stress Factors: Trends and Recovery

1986
Studies of environmental damage from acidification by acid deposition in Canada date from the 1950's. in the late 1960's, acidification of surface waters and other forms of environmental damage near point source emissions in Canada and the United States led to development of Clean Air Acts in both countries and the implementation of various control ...

Stress and recovery in extreme situations

2017
A better understanding of stress and recovery processes might have practical implications in psychological countermeasures for dealing with the human factor in extreme situations. Preventive countermeasures and interventions would prevent pathogenic psychological outcomes on both the well-being of the participants and their adaptation to such ...

Exercise, stress, and recovery
