Stress and Simulation in Pilot Training.

1979
Abstract : Catecholemine excretion for 20 USAF student pilots and 13 instructor pilots was determined during daily activities, during sorties performed in high realism simulators, and during actual flight. High realism simulation resulted in a measurable stress response in both students and instructors; the response was not related to previous flight ...

Flumazenil has an anxiolytic effect in simulated stress

Psychopharmacology, 1994
This study was designed to test whether or not flumazenil (1 mg IV) would change levels of anxiety induced by simulation of public speaking (PSS). Forty normal volunteers were randomly allocated in a parallel groups design to treatment with flumazenil or placebo (double-blind) and one of two stress conditions (PSS/control task).

Simulation of stress urinary incontinence for in-vitro studies

Technology and Health Care, 2008
A simulation system that generates dynamic bladder pressures for the use of testing and examining artificial urinary sphincters is designed, implemented, and compared to in-vivo measurements of Valsalva and coughing profiles. Cylinder and piston, which are integrated into the universal testing machine, simulating the bladder are connected with ...

Simulation of Inspecting Stress Concentration with Thermoelastic Stress Analysis

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
The thermoelastic stress inspecting stress concentration was simulated using element plane223 of software ANSYS, comparing the result of simulation analysis and theory calculation, the simulation results of temperature and stress are precise extremely when the specimen is loaded sinusoidal load; the temperature changes of the right node in hole border ...

Simulation under Stress: A Comparative Benchmarking of Large-Scale Traffic Simulators

2025 International Conference on Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Wireless and Mobile Systems (MSWiM)
Modern urban mobility systems are increasingly dependent on precise and scalable simulation platforms to facilitate the design, assessment, and optimization of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). This paper sets forth a thorough benchmarking investigation of three extensively utilized traffic simulation platforms: SUMO (Simulation of Urban ...

Psychologic Stress in a Video-Simulated Dental Restoration

Journal of Dental Research, 1969
Psychologic stress was studied in relation to several variables: instructional set, sex, dental anxiety, and order of presentation of stressful and nonstressful stimuli. Verbal and autonomic measures were obtained from 64 subjects. Order of presentation had an important effect on autonomic response.
