Glyph‐Based Comparative Stress Tensor Visualization in Cerebral Aneurysms
Computer graphics forum (Print), 2017We present the first visualization tool that enables a comparative depiction of structural stress tensor data for vessel walls of cerebral aneurysms. Such aneurysms bear the risk of rupture, whereas their treatment also carries considerable risks for the

The notion of natural stress tensors is introduced, which are tensors obtained from Cauchy and Kirchhoff stress tensors by operations of mapping, half-mapping, and mixed mapping of the actual configuration onto the reference configuration, and also onto two intermediate configurations. A complete class of natural stress tensors is obtained and analyzed.

The elastic properties of materials relate the applied stress tensor to the resulting strain tensor via the stiffness tensor or its inverse, the compliance tensor. They are the topics of Chaps. 11, 12 and 13. In the present chapter, the stress tensor at a point in the material is defined.

Stress tensors from effective potentials
Physical Review D, 1988The interpretation of the effective potential as an energy density is critiqued. T/sub ..mu..//sub ..nu../ can be found from the effective potential by a careful treatment of the potential's dependence on the metric. The subtleties involved are discussed using several examples for clarification.

We prove global existence of appropriate weak solutions for the compressible Navier--Stokes equations for more general stress tensor than those covered by P.-L. Lions and E. Feireisl's theory.

Stress Vector and Stress Tensor
2010A man may imagine things that are false, but he can only understand things that are true, for if the things be false, the apprehension of them is not understanding . Isaac Newton Introduction In the beginning of Chapter 3, we briefly discussed the need to study deformation in materials that we may design for engineering applications.

It is suggested to place a small, simple and determinate structural system at the point where stress components are to be determined inside a concrete body. This structural system can be arranged so that measured strains of its members may provide sufficient information for determination of the state of stress. In the present pilot study, a determinate

Microscopic stress tensors in atoms
Physical Review B, 1986Calculations are presented for microscopic quantum stress tensors for selected closed-shell atomic systems. The stress tensor in spherically symmetric atoms is expressed as a diagonal dyadic in terms of spherical-polar unit vectors. In equilibrium the balancing of momentum and electric flux implies a relationship between the radial and tangential ...
