Research of MOC on stress wave propagation
Le Journal de Physique IV, 2000MOC(Method of Cell) is a new method of investigating wave propagating in material with periodic microstructure, and can reflect the effect of microstructure. In fact, by this theory, the actual composite can be transformed into a homogeneous higher order continuum with microstructure.

Equipment for ''Watching'' Propagating Stress Waves
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1959The propagation of stress waves generated by impact may be ``watched'' photoelastically with the use of the simple experimental arrangement described herein. In addition to providing control over the observed progress of the wave, the apparatus makes possible photography of the wave with conventional cameras.

Propagation of stress waves in rubber rods
Journal of Polymer Science, 1957AbstractThe propagation of longitudinal, torsional, and flexural waves in rubber rods was studied by a moving probe method. Conditions and materials were used for which the attenuation was sufficient to eliminate standing waves. Velocity and attenuation data were obtained for the different wave types over the frequency range 1 to 8 kc.

Stress wave propagation in bilayered media
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1979Integral transform techniques are utilized in order to analyze the propagation of spherical waves in bispherical elastic media. A typical model consists of a cavity of radius r0 located at the center of a spherical material (medium 1) which in turn is embedded in an infinite medium of different properties (medium 2).

Stress Wave Propagation in Slender Bars
1997With the availability of today’s advanced technology, experimental data are often available in various types and forms. It is important to examine as many sources of such data as is reasonable in formulating a particle model. In this chapter, we will show how to incorporate available stress and strain measurements for slender aluminum bars in order to ...

Stress wave propagation in rectangular bars
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1969Abstract The method of collocation is used to obtain dispersion curves for wave propagation in infinite rectangular bars. It is found to give accurate results, over a limited range of wave numbers, for the first two branches of the dispersion curves for the various modes of propagation.
