TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Rock-like material under large diameter SHPB dynamic splitting tension: meso-damage mechanical behavior and stress wave propagation model

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials
The mechanical behavior of splitting tensile damage and the law of stress wave propagation of rock-like materials (RLM) are of great significance to further reveal the dynamic disaster mechanism of the deep rock mass.

Models of stress fluctuations in granular media

open access: yes, 1997
We investigate in detail two models describing how stresses propagate and fluctuate in granular media. The first one is a scalar model where only the vertical component of the stress tensor is considered.

Modelling strong seismic ground motion: three-dimensional loading path versus wavefield polarization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Seismic waves due to strong earthquakes propagating in surficial soil layers may both reduce soil stiffness and increase the energy dissipation into the soil.

Understanding the Effect of Resistance Temperature Detector Temperature Controllers on Microstructural Alignment in Magnetic Freeze Casting

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...

Experimental Study on the Boundary Reflection Effect of Stress Wave Propagation Based on the Newly Developed Test Apparatus

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
There is a ubiquitous boundary reflection effect of stress wave propagation in the indoor experimental studies. It is critical to improve the validity of waveform data by optimizing boundary materials to absorb reflection waves.

Energy dissipation and fracture characteristics of composite layered rock under dynamic load

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2023
Six combinations of layered composite rocks were prepared using sandstone, dali rock, and granite. The composite rock specimens underwent a dynamic impact test using the separated Hopkinson pressure rod test system, and the failure patterns of the ...

Estimating Terminal Velocity of Rough Cracks in the Framework of Discrete Fractal Fracture Mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we first obtain the order of stress singularity for a dynamically propagating self-affine fractal crack. We then show that there is always an upper bound to roughness, i.e. a propagating fractal crack reaches a terminal roughness.

Evaluation of the Potential of Laser Shock Peening Compared with Cold Expansion for Improving Fatigue Resistance of Riveted Lap Joints of Aerospace Grade 7175 Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...
