Stretching of Proteins in the Entropic Limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Mechanical stretching of six proteins is studied through molecular dynamics simulations. The model is Go-like, with Lennard-Jones interactions at native contacts.

Recent progress in microfiltration polypropylene membrane fabrication by stretching method

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Microfiltration polypropylene (MF-PP) membrane has been widely used in many industries due to their excellent combination of good separation performances and low production cost. In addition to membrane configuration, the structure of MF-PP membrane also

MHD flow of Jeffrey liquid due to a nonlinear radially stretched sheet in presence of Newtonian heating

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2016
This communication describes the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of Jeffrey liquid persuaded by a nonlinear radially stretched sheet. Heat transfer is characterized by Newtonian heating and Joule heating effects.

Numerical simulation for nonlinear radiative flow by convective cylinder

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2016
Present study explores the effect of nonlinear thermal radiation and magnetic field in boundary layer flow of viscous fluid due to nonlinear stretching cylinder. An incompressible fluid occupies the porous medium.

Finite element simulation on residual stress during immersion quenching and pre-stretching of Al7055 thick plates

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2022
During the immersion quenching process, severe temperature changes and significant temperature differences between the core and superficial area can give rise to high residual stresses within the aluminum alloy thick plate to cause subsequent machining ...

VON Kármán Casson fluid flow with Navier’s slip and cattaneo-christov heat flux

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2021
In the current article, the Von Kármán swirling flow problem is extended for Navier’s slip condition on the stretching rotating disk surface with the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux.

Reversible stretching of homopolymers and random heteropolymers

open access: yes, 2001
We have analyzed the equilibrium response of chain molecules to stretching. For a homogeneous sequence of monomers, the induced transition from compact globule to extended coil below the $\theta$-temperature is predicted to be sharp. For random sequences,

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Thermal unfolding of proteins

open access: yes, 2005
Thermal unfolding of proteins is compared to folding and mechanical stretching in a simple topology-based dynamical model. We define the unfolding time and demonstrate its low-temperature divergence.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
