Dispersion of the high-energy phonon modes in Nd$_{1.85}$Ce$_{0.15}$CuO$_4$

open access: yes, 2005
The dispersion of the high-energy phonon modes in the electron doped high-temperature superconductor Nd$_{1.85}$Ce$_{0.15}$CuO$_4$ has been studied by inelastic neutron scattering.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Cooling Intensification of a Continuously Moving Stretching Surface Using Different Types of Nanofluids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The effect of different types of nanoparticles on the heat transfer from a continuously moving stretching surface in a concurrent, parallel free stream has been studied. The stretching surface is assumed to have power-law velocity and temperature.

Comparative analysis of unsteady flow of induced MHD radiative Sutterby fluid flow at nonlinear stretching cylinder/sheet: Variable thermal conductivity

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2023
Unsteady incompressible Sutterby fluid model is considered. The comparative results of stretching cylinder and sheet have been studied. The induced magnetic field is considered in the presence of thermal slip.

Pressure-induced changes of the vibrational modes of spin-crossover complexes studied by nuclear resonance scattering of synchrotron radiation

open access: yes, 2012
Nuclear inelastic scattering (NIS) spectra were recorded for the spin-crossover complexes STP and ETP (STP = [Fe(1,1,1-trisf[N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-N-methylamino]methylg- ethane)](ClO4)2 and ETP = [Fe(1,1,1-trisf[N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-N-methylamino]methylg ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Influences of poling temperature and elongation ratio on PVDF-HFP piezoelectric films

open access: yesNanotechnology Reviews, 2021
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and its copolymers exhibit excellent piezoelectric properties and are potential materials for high efficiency energy harvesting devices. In this study, poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) films are

High-spin low-spin transition

open access: yes, 1999
Temperature dependent nuclear inelastic-scattering (NIS) of synchrotron radiation was applied to investigate both spin states of the spin-crossover complex [Fe(tpa)(NCS)(2)] (tpa = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine).
